This is part of a series of umbrella paintings. One day while sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, I was struck by two things: how beautiful the umbrellas were, and how their various positions could be used as a metaphor for feelings and relationships. This small group of umbrellas grouped together in a field of light reminds me of friendship and is called Girlfriends.
